Industrial Service

Three-Phase Power

Three-phase power installation and distribution for industrial premises — motor control centres, distribution board upgrades, sub-mains, cable management and full BS 7671 certification for manufacturing, production and plant environments.

What industrial three-phase power work actually has to deliver

01

Existing distribution that can't carry the new load

Adding machinery, a new production line or a process upgrade without assessing the existing distribution is a programme risk. We carry out a load flow assessment and confirm supply capacity before any design work begins — so the budget accounts for the full electrical scope.

02

Motor starting that causes voltage drops across other circuits

Direct-on-line motor starting draws significant inrush current and can cause voltage depression affecting other equipment on the same distribution. We design the motor circuit protection and, where required, specify soft-start or variable speed drive (VSD) solutions to manage this.

03

An MCC that can't be serviced without a full shutdown

Older motor control centres are often configured so individual drive or starter maintenance requires isolating the whole panel. New MCCs are designed with withdrawable or individually-isolatable sections so maintenance windows can be minimised.

04

No documented circuit history for the maintenance team

Industrial electrical installations are often modified over decades without updated documentation. We produce as-installed single-line diagrams, circuit schedules and EICR documentation at the close of every project — giving your maintenance team a reliable starting point.

The Numbers

Unplanned downtime

0

On our manufacturing plant refurbishment — zero unplanned production stoppages across an 8-month programme. Every maintenance window returned on time.

Complex programme delivered

8mo

Out-of-hours and weekend working across 8 months, integrated into the client's production schedule without disruption to any shift.

Production zones sequenced

4

Four independent zones refurbished sequentially, each with its own commissioning and handover process.

Why specify Con-Tec

Heavy-Current Works, Zero-Tolerance Delivery

01

Pre-works load assessment

We assess supply capacity and load flow before the design begins — so the electrical scope is fully costed and no supply upgrades arise unexpectedly during the programme.

02

Out-of-hours delivery capability

Directly-employed engineers available for nights and weekends — working to your production schedule rather than asking production to work around ours.

03

MCC design and build capability

We specify, procure and install motor control centres built to the correct IP rating, circuit configuration and maintenance access requirements for your facility.

04

Documentation for the maintenance team

As-installed single-line diagrams, circuit schedules and EICR documentation are produced at project close — so your maintenance team has a reliable electrical record from day one.

01

Load Assessment

Load flow analysis, supply capacity review and existing circuit condition assessment before any design work begins.

02

Design & Specification

Distribution design, MCC specification and cable schedules produced to BS 7671 and IEC 60947, with a phased delivery plan aligned to your production schedule.

03

Phased Installation

Works delivered zone-by-zone in agreed maintenance windows — out of hours where required — with zero unplanned downtime as the standard.

04

Commission & Certificate

Full load testing, protection relay commissioning, EICR and as-installed documentation at handover.
