Commercial Service

Air Conditioning

Electrical supply, installation and commissioning for commercial air conditioning systems — dedicated circuit provision, circuit protection, isolator installation and full BS 7671 certification for VRF, split and multi-split configurations.

What the electrical side of an air conditioning project actually has to solve

01

Undersized electrical supply for the system specified

VRF and multi-split outdoor units carry significant electrical load. We assess the available supply, calculate the required circuit ratings and confirm whether the existing distribution can carry the additional demand before any equipment is ordered.

02

Circuit protection that doesn't meet manufacturer requirements

Equipment warranties and Building Regulations compliance both depend on correctly specified overcurrent protection and isolators. We design the electrical supply to the equipment manufacturer's technical requirements from the outset.

03

Coordinating electrical works with the refrigeration contractor

Air conditioning projects involve at least two specialist trades. We coordinate the electrical programme with the refrigeration engineer so containment routes, power points and commissioning sequences are aligned and neither trade is waiting on the other.

04

Lack of certification for Building Control and insurance

New air conditioning circuits must be notified under Part P and certified to BS 7671. We handle the notification, produce the test certificates and provide the completion certificate — ensuring your building records are complete at handover.

Why specify Con-Tec

The Electrical Half Done Properly

01

Pre-order supply assessment

We assess the available supply capacity and circuit protection requirements before equipment is ordered, so the system can be installed as specified without costly late-stage electrical upgrades.

02

Refrigeration contractor coordination

We work directly with your refrigeration engineer to align containment routes, isolator positions and commissioning sequences — preventing programme delays caused by trade interface gaps.

03

Manufacturer-compliant protection

Equipment warranties depend on correctly specified circuit protection. We design to the manufacturer's published requirements and provide the electrical certification to evidence compliance.

04

Complete building records

Part P notification, test certificates, updated circuit schedules and commissioning records are all included — so your building compliance records are complete when the system goes live.

01

Supply Assessment

We review the available supply capacity against the proposed system load and confirm circuit protection and cable sizing before any equipment is ordered.

02

Design & Coordination

Circuit layout, containment routes and isolator positions are designed and shared with the refrigeration contractor to align both programmes before first fix.

03

Installation

Sub-mains, final circuits, isolators and commissioning switches installed to BS 7671 by NICEIC-approved engineers — coordinated with the refrigeration programme.

04

Commission & Certificate

All circuits tested and commissioned with the refrigeration engineer present. Test certificates, Part P notification and circuit schedules provided at completion.
