Emergency Lighting Reports

Emergency lighting testing, certification and compliance reporting to BS EN 50172 and BS 5266 — monthly function test records, annual 3-hour duration test certification, digital logbook management and DALI automated test reporting.

What emergency lighting compliance reporting actually requires

01

An emergency lighting logbook that has never been maintained

BS EN 50172 requires a documented test record maintained throughout the life of the system. Where no logbook exists, we establish a digital baseline by surveying the current installation and carrying out the first compliant function and duration test — creating a dated compliance record from that point forward.

02

A failed annual duration test

Failed duration tests are most commonly caused by aged batteries or failed luminaires that were not identified during routine monthly function tests. We carry out a condition survey before the scheduled annual test to identify these items in advance.

03

No electronic record for insurer or Fire Risk Assessment

Paper logbooks are lost, damaged or simply not available when insurers or fire risk assessors ask to see them. We maintain all test records digitally and provide immediate access on request.

04

Manual testing across a large industrial or multi-floor building

Torch testing individual non-addressed luminaires across a large premises is time-consuming and produces a compliance record that is difficult to defend. DALI-2 addressed systems automate this entirely — we can retrofit addressed modules into existing systems where the full system replacement is not warranted.

Why specify Con-Tec

Compliance Records That Hold Up to Scrutiny

01

Pre-test condition surveys

We identify aged batteries and failed luminaires before the formal annual test — so your duration test produces a pass certificate, not a remedial schedule.

02

Digital records accessible on demand

All test results, certificates and maintenance records held digitally — available immediately for insurer, Fire Risk Assessor or regulatory inspection.

03

DALI addressed system expertise

We design, commission and service DALI-2 addressed emergency systems — and can retrofit addressed modules into existing systems to automate the test cycle.

04

Remedial works on the same visit

Where failed luminaires or batteries are found during testing, we carry out the replacement on the same visit and re-test before leaving — so the system is compliant at the close of every service call.

01

Condition Survey & Baseline

Full luminaire and battery condition survey, producing a documented baseline and establishing the digital test record from the first visit.

02

Monthly Function Tests

Monthly attended or DALI-automated function tests, with digital results recorded and any failures reported immediately.

03

Annual Duration Test

Annual 3-hour duration test carried out, witnessed and certified — with battery and luminaire replacements completed on the same visit if required.

04
