LED Lighting Upgrades

Design and installation of commercial LED lighting systems — energy assessment, luminaire specification, circuit upgrades and commissioning that cut running costs without interrupting how your building operates.

What a lighting upgrade actually has to solve

01

Energy bills that never come down

Legacy fluorescent, halogen and metal-halide fittings draw up to 60% more power than the LED equivalent. We start with a metered energy assessment and model the saving per luminaire, so the business case is built on measured load — not manufacturer claims.

02

Constant maintenance callouts

Failed ballasts, flickering tubes and lamp changes across a large floorplate consume more in labour than they do in parts. Specified LED luminaires are rated to 50,000+ hours, taking routine lamp replacement off your planned maintenance schedule entirely.

03

Light levels that fail assessment

Under-lit workspaces and poor uniformity fail workplace assessment and CIBSE LG7 guidance. We carry out a lux survey of the existing installation and produce a compliant lighting design to BS EN 12464-1 before any fitting is ordered.

04

Disruption you cannot afford

Offices, wards and production floors cannot go dark for a rewire. Works are phased zone-by-zone and delivered out of hours or around occupancy windows, with temporary lighting maintained throughout so the space stays usable.

05

No clear payback case

Finance teams need numbers, not estimates. You receive a written payback model covering capital cost, projected kWh reduction and maintenance saving — documentation that stands up to ESOS and SECR reporting requirements.

Why specify Con-Tec

Engineered, Not Just Installed

01

Directly-employed engineers

No subcontract labour. The NICEIC-approved engineers who survey your site are the engineers who install and commission it — one point of contact from first visit to final certificate.

02

Design before specification

We produce the lighting design and lux calculations before recommending a single product. That means the specification answers your light levels and payback target, not a supplier's stock position.

03

Live-environment delivery

We have upgraded lighting inside occupied NHS wards, operating universities and continuously running production facilities — infection control, out-of-hours working and zero-downtime phasing are routine.

04

Documentation that satisfies audit

Every upgrade closes out with BS 7671 certification, as-built schedules, commissioning records and an energy saving summary suitable for ESOS, SECR and board-level reporting.

01

Survey & Scope

We carry out a site survey and load assessment before any design work begins. Understanding your constraints — programme, occupancy, budget — shapes everything that follows.

02

Design & Specification

Our engineers produce full working drawings, schedules and specifications to Part P and BS 7671 standards. You receive a clear cost envelope before work commences.

03

Installation

NICEIC-approved, directly-employed engineers — no subcontract labour — deliver the works to programme with daily site records and a single point of contact throughout.

04

Test, Commission & Certificate

All installations are tested to BS 7671. You receive full EICR documentation, minor works certificates and an as-built schematic at handover.

What our clients say

Con-Tec consistently meets the rigour our estates teams expect. Their compliance documentation, site discipline and turnaround on remedial works are exactly what large-scale healthcare contracts require.
