Warehouse Lighting

LED high-bay and low-bay system upgrades for warehouses, distribution centres and manufacturing facilities — energy assessment, photometric design to CIBSE guidance, circuit upgrades and commissioning without disrupting operations.

What an industrial lighting upgrade actually has to solve

01

High-bay metal-halide fittings that are failing

Metal-halide high-bays have long warm-up and re-strike times, high replacement costs and significant energy consumption. LED high-bays eliminate re-strike delays entirely, reduce energy consumption and carry extended rated service lives that remove routine lamp replacement from the maintenance schedule.

02

Poor uniformity and dark pick-face aisles

Uniformity failures in racked storage aisles are a health and safety risk as well as an operational problem. We carry out a photometric design to CIBSE guidance before specifying any fitting — calculating uniformity ratios across the full racking layout.

03

Works that shut down production

Warehouses and manufacturing facilities operate continuously. Works are planned zone-by-zone around the production or logistics schedule — out of hours, weekend or in defined maintenance windows — with temporary lighting maintained in each zone throughout.

04

Controls that don't justify the investment

High-bay installations benefit significantly from presence detection and daylight harvesting — particularly in high-roof, naturally lit buildings. We design and commission DALI-2 controls as part of the package, so the energy reduction begins from day one of operation.

The Numbers

Hours rated service life

50K+

Typical rated service life for LED high-bay luminaires — eliminating routine lamp replacement from the planned maintenance schedule.

Re-strike delay

0s

LED high-bays reach full output instantly — no warm-up period and no re-strike delay after a supply interruption, unlike metal-halide.

Luminaire warranty

5yr

Standard on specified industrial LED fittings, with extended terms available on selected ranges for higher-usage environments.

Why specify Con-Tec

Industrial Lighting, Engineered for Operations

01

Photometric design before specification

We calculate lux levels, uniformity ratios and mounting heights across the full floor plan — including racked aisles — before recommending any product.

02

Zero-downtime delivery

Works phased around your production or logistics schedule. No zone goes dark without temporary lighting maintained and a documented hand-back procedure.

03

Controls that earn their cost

DALI-2 presence detection and daylight harvesting commissioning is included in our scope — not an optional extra. The energy reduction starts from day one.

04

Directly-employed NICEIC engineers

No subcontract labour. The team that surveys your facility installs and commissions it — with full EICR documentation and as-built schedules at handover.

01

Survey & Load Assessment

Site survey, existing circuit assessment and photometric measurement of the current installation before any design work begins.

02

Photometric Design

Lux calculations and uniformity analysis across the full floor plate, including all racked aisles, before a single luminaire is specified.

03

Phased Installation

Works delivered zone-by-zone around your production or logistics programme, with temporary lighting maintained throughout and zero unplanned downtime.

04

Commission & Certificate

DALI controls commissioned and verified, all circuits tested to BS 7671. As-built schedules, commissioning records and EICR documentation at handover.
